The Five Fragrances that I am Obsessed with For Fall 2012

Walking through Sephora I was thinking of all the fragrances that I love and what I think are the top five fragrances that are great for this time of year.  If you are a perfume wearer like myself and love a good fragrance here are my top five recommendations for January and the rest of fall 2012.

1.)  Viva La Juicy — by Juicy Couture. I love this scent it is a lovely scent of sandalwood, Honeysuckle, Gardenia, Jasmine, Amber, Caramel, Vanilla, and wild berries. Every time I wear this fragrance I feel pretty and feminine.

2.)  Acqua Di Gioia by Georgio Armani this is an amazing perfume that is exotic and beautiful in color. The name Acqua Di Gioia means “Water of Joy”. I love this scent it is very sensual and reminds me of the Mediterranean Sea.

3.)  Miss Dior Cherie – by Dior This is a very nice feminine scent that is light and fresh. I really enjoy this fragrance and I always receive a lot of compliments every time I wear it.

4.)  Body by Burberry I absolutely love this scent! This scent has a lot of feminine freshness wrapped up with fine luxury. I smell hints of rose, amber and sandalwood. Body is probably my favorite of the five for this season.

5.)  J’adore by Dior is one of my all time favorite perfumes. I recently rediscovered this scent and how much I love it. The perfume has notes of orchids, mandarin and blackberries. This scent is erotic and feminine and you will feel and smell amazing when you wear it.

Makeup Review for L’Oreals Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation

I have very dry skin and usually have an extremely hard time finding a good over the counter drugstore foundation. So when I saw someone do a review on the L’Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle foundation I had to give this a try. L’Oreal has a new line of makeup that is whipped and comes in a small jar. They have the foundation for oily skin, combination skin and the dry skin called Magic Smooth Souffle foundation. This is a whipped mouse that is a bit darker in the bottle then on the skin.

My normal makeup shade is usually the lightest fair or Ivory. The review that I had read on this foundation said to go one shade up due to the bottle color not being correct. So I took the advice of the reviewer and went one color up to 518 called Natural Buff. This was a perfect color match and the reviewer was correct on the color and the bottle being a bit off.

I love this foundation, it does go on a bit dry so you will need to wear a good moisterizer and a foundation primer. They do sell one from L’oreal to wear specifically with this foundation but I use the prime time from Bare Minerals and it works really well together. This foundation goes on easily after the moisterizer and the primer have dried on the skin. I use a foundation sponge and make sure to throughly spread it evenly on my skin. I used to have issues with foundation that would cake under my eyes and make me look older. I feel well hydrated with this foundation and no longer have dry lines around the eyes. It lasts all day long and I even have to apply a light power because of all the moisture that I get from it.

I highly recommend this foundation to all women who have dry skin and especially to those that are over 35. This foundation retails for around $15.95 and the primer is $12.95. You can purchase this foundation at any drugstore or major department store like Walmart. Target, Walgreens, CVS, Ulta and also available to purchase online.

DIY Homemade Sugar Peppermint Face and Body Scrub

Sugar makes an excellent exfoliator for your skin because it is good alternative to using salt. Salt can be a bit harsh and really scratch up and irritate your skin. Sugar will be a better substitute for salt if you have sensitive skin. Sugar helps to release a fresh layer of skin and to shave off those pesky black heads and dead skin cells.

Skin can appear to take on a very dry tone with an ashy tint. Adding exfoliation to your skin regime is essential, especially as you get older and in cold weather. Try this recipe below good to do once or twice a week. You can apply this to your face as well as your entire body.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • 6 drops of essential oil peppermint
  • 1 tbsp of Jojoba oil

Preparation:

Add sugar, peppermint oil and Jojoba oil and mix together

Pour the sugar mixture into the warm water and let it fully dissolve. This is important because it can pull your skin if not fully dissolved.

Apply in a nice even circular motion onto your face or body. Let stand for about five minutes then rinse off.
